Trice Humpert, Assistant Vice President for Information Technology Services

 Trice Humpert was appointed to Assistant Vice President for Information Technology Services (ITS), effective May 1, 2020. Humpert has served in the interim role since August 2019. Prior to his appointment, Humpert was UT Austin’s Director of Systems and ITS Applications for six years. Before joining the university, he was employed with Temple-Inland for 21 years in multiple IT and management positions. Humpert has a total of 37 years of IT and managerial experience.

The Office of the Assistant Vice President for Information Technology is responsible for the provision of the core information technology infrastructure and coordination of campus-wide information technology at The University of Texas at Austin. The AVP’s office works with the Information Technology Leadership Council and collaborates with IT service units across campus in support of our core mission to be more effective, efficient, and achieve operational excellence.

The ITS Customer Support Services portfolio provides the University with a centralized point of contact for help with information technology, business processes, services and applications. ITS also issues identification cards and provide administrative, HR and financial services for the ITS portfolio.

UT Service Desk

The Service Desk provides the university community with a centralized point of contact for help with a variety of topics, including questions concerning information technology, business processes, services, and applications.
