Building Access

  • Starting March 16, 2020, all campus buildings will require UT ID access to enter. Separate protocols are in place for the Student Services Building, parts of which serve as a health care facility. Staff, contract employees and deliveries should use the north doors on the first floor or ground floor. Visitors and most patients will use the south entrance on Dean Keeton, and patients being directed to the UHS respiratory clinic will use the east doors.
  • Employees attempting to enter a building should enter via the building's celebrated entrance using their UT ID card. A celebrated entrance is typically a main entrance, but employees should look for the ID card swipe pad and words "Celebrated Entrance" printed on the doors to locate the building’s celebrated entrance.
  • Do not allow anyone to tailgate into a building behind you. Make sure the door closes behind you, and do not allow tailgaiting entry into a building for your own and other’s safety. If someone attempts to tailgate behind you into a building, inform them the building is closed and they must use their UT ID card to enter. If they do enter improperly, immediately call 911 and UTPD will respond to investigate.

Accounting and Financial Management

  • Operational Status: Accounting and Financial Management is working remotely with limited on-site services. See individual units for further information.

AT&T Hotel and Conference Center

  • Operational Status: AT&T Hotel and Conference Center is open, operating with limited food and beverage, served in to-go fashion only.

Budget Office

Bursar

  • Operational Status: The Bursar’s Office is operating with a reduced staff and alternate hours. The office will process deposits Monday, Wednesday and Friday between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. Deposits that only have credit card transactions can be approved remotely. Departmental staff should call ahead (512-475-7987) and Bursar staff will open the door and accept the deposit at the normal office windows.

  • Operational Status: Fully Operational, Fully Remote; except Central/Stores Warehouse, staffed 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Campus Safety

  • Operational Status - continues to oversee safety aspects related to preventing the transmission of COVID-19 while still handling primary essential functions to keep the university students, faculty/staff and property safe and aiding to the continuity of university operations. All units within Campus Safety, Fire Preventions Services, Environmental Health and Safety and Emergency Preparedness, are working on-campus and tele-working remotely to ensure that the identified essential functions are still on-going. Critical functions that have been identified are defined as those functions that enables the University to provide vital services, maintain the safety and well-being of the campus community, ensure continuity of administration, protect the University’s assets and enables teaching or research to continue.

Document Solutions and UT Mail Services

  • Operational Status:  Document Solutions will continue to provide essential services to the university by operating with limited staffing and rotating schedules. USPS Mail and Campus Delivery Services (CDS) packages will be delivered only to departments who have requested these services. Please expect delays in delivery. If your campus-bound package has been rerouted, please call CDS to coordinate pickup.

Emergency Preparedness

  • Operational Status - currently running a virtual Emergency Operations Center (EOC), providing continuity of emergency operations support for the University and running the University’s Emergency Notification systems to keep the UT community informed of any changes on campus.

Environmental Health and Safety

  • Operational Status: Key personnel on-campus responding to sanitize areas with any possible contamination of COVID 19, continuing waste management and pick-up, hazardous materials incidents, odors, fume hoods and any other primary incident calls. All other services fully functional remotely.

Human Resources

  • HR is fully operational in a remote status; call 512-471-4772, or email. In addition, the HR Service Center is providing on-campus assistance (UTA, 1st floor lobby) by scheduled appointment only, to conduct business that cannot be performed remotely, e.g. notary service, I-9 employment identity verification, etc. For your safety and ours, the HRSC is practicing social distancing therefore we are only allowing a maximum of 4 people in our lobby at any one time

Information Quest (IQ)

  • Operational Status: All IQ staff are working remotely. During this time, IQ remains fully available to support services and users. IQ does not anticipate any service impacts as a result of the university response to COVID19 - Cognos, Tableau, and other IQ services are fully operational. Parking and Transportation Services

  • Operational Status: All PTS offices, including garages, the main office, and fleet operations office, will be closed until further notice. Operations are continuing remotely. PTS is responding to our emails for questions including our main email account parking@utexas.edu.
    • Parking: Parking garages will remain open and will not require a permit to enter or exit.
    • Campus Shuttles: Based on the City of Austin "Stay Home - Work Safe" Order, UT Shuttles will not run until at least April 13, 2020.
    • Capital Metro: Capital Metro mainline service continues to operate at this time, but with a modified level of service to promote public health and accommodate social distancing. Students, faculty, and staff ride free with their UT ID.
    • UT Night Rides: UT Night Rides will not operate through the remainder of the spring semester.
    • SureWalk: Sure Walk will not operate through the remainder of the spring semester.

Police

  • Operational Status: UTPD remains a fully-functioning 24/7 police service to the UT community. Officers will continue to respond to emergency 911 calls where life and property are at risk. However, to limit the spread of COVID-19, UTPD will take reports regarding non-urgent incidents over the phone. Officers will remain visible patrolling the campus and its borders by vehicle, on foot and on bike.

  • Operational Status: Beginning March 16, 2020, and until further notice, the Procurement and Payment Services Office will be closed and all essential operations have been moved to remote status to reduce the public spread of COVID-19.

Travel Management Services

University Data Center

  • Operational Status: The UDC is currently running on reduced on-site staffing. Tier I staff are on-site 24/7 to provide monitoring services. Tier II staff are working remotely and are on call to provide physical support to customers with coordination. Any requests from customers supporting critical services will be coordinated for an immediate response. All other requests will be queued and batched for processing by a member of the Tier II staff coming onsite to the data center.

Utilities and Energy Management

  • Operational Status: UEM continues to provide utility services 24/7. Business operations are fully remote. To report a utility outage, please call the Facilities Service Center at 512-471-2020.
