Equity, diversity, and inclusion (EDI) are part and parcel of who we are, what we do, and how we work. Our spotlights on EDI in Financial and Administrative Services (FAS) are intended to recognize individuals, teams, or units that have made contributions to embedding EDI in their work (for example, culture, people, leadership, and processes) and are aligned with our core values. We believe in learning with and from each other through the stories showcased below. When we share, it inspires others and sparks change to make inclusion our norm.

The next Spotlight could be you! We encourage a blend of submission formats such as video, high-quality photos, and text. The FAS EDI Committee will review the submissions and make final selections. Submit here.
To submit videos for your spotlights, we recommend the following steps:
- Create a video using FAS Communications Video Best Practices.
- Ensure that your video includes the MP4 file, .SRT closed captions and the video title and description, which will then be hosted on the FAS Vimeo channel.
- Note that we do not recommend hosting videos from any personal accounts due to long-term maintenance issues.
Utility and Energy Management promotes Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion with the Employee Engagement
Employees from Utilities and Energy Management (UEM) at the University of Texas at Austin began an employee engagement initiative in 2018 to promote an equitable, diverse and inclusive environment within the organization. Watch the UEM video and read about their efforts in this area.
The eBITS Diversity & Inclusion Committee was launched in April 2019 with the goal of analyzing how we can gain greater understanding of Diversity and Inclusion topics as a unit, how we can adjust our processes and planning to consider diversity in all that we do. We meet monthly and have various subcommittees for individual programs.
