12.5.8. TRAVEL REIMBURSEMENTS

Travel reimbursements are subject to restrictions for foreign visitors inside the U.S.

A. B Visitors

  • B visitors can be paid travel reimbursements and an honorarium for services if the visit at The University of Texas at Austin is 9 days or less and all qualifications for B-1 or WB visitors are met.
  • B visitors who stay at the university more than 9 days cannot be paid an honorarium, but can receive travel reimbursements as long as the visit to the university is 30 days or less.
  • B visitors who stay at the university more than 30 days cannot receive an honorarium or travel reimbursement of any kind, including for the first 30 days of the stay.

B. J Visitors

J visitors can receive travel reimbursements for the entire time their immigration documents allow them to be in the U.S.
