As a general rule, The University of Texas at Austin does not request reports of creditworthiness during background checks on candidates for employment. One specific group of employee candidates does require credit checks, and Human Resource Services follows the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) guidelines for these background checks by providing a Summary of Rights and the Texas Summary of Rights to the candidate.
