20.2.4. CONDITIONS UNDER WHICH RECORDS MUST NOT BE DESTROYED

Master records at The University of Texas at Austin must not be destroyed:

  • if a master record has not met all retention requirements listed in The University of Texas Records Retention Schedule (UTRRS).
  • if a Request to Dispose of Records Form has not been approved by the university records management officer (RMO).
  • until the resolution of any litigation, claim, negotiation, audit, public information request, administrative review, or other action that is initiated before the expiration of a retention period for the record and any other issues that arise from the action are resolved.
  • if any legal action or audit is reasonably anticipated involving a university record.
