FAS Core Values Awards

Dear FAS colleagues,

As I mentioned in my recent email about the university’s 10-year strategic plan, there is room within the plan for all of us to make a difference, and we in FAS, as individuals, will be recipients of positive changes to come. One aspect of the plan calls for us to honor and recognize staff achievements more frequently and clearly. I also mentioned in my email that FAS will be working to update our FAS Strategic Plan to align with the university’s plan, which would include a portfolio-wide framework for FAS staff awards. However, we can’t wait for our plans to be complete to honor and reward our hardworking team members. To that end, I am pleased to announce the launch of the FAS Core Values Awards program to coincide with any employee appreciation activities we will be hosting this summer.

FAS Core Values Awards

This summer we will honor up to 5 staff members for each FAS core value (Diversity, Innovation, Integrity, Service, and Stewardship) and up to 5 cross-collaborative teams for a Teamwork award. The awards available to winners will include monetary awards, certificates, UT swag bags, and invitations to an engagement with me. We will also honor winners during any employee appreciation events this summer.

Criteria and Nomination Process

Any FAS employee may nominate individuals from within their teams or from across the portfolio for each core value (Diversity, Innovation, Integrity, Service, and Stewardship) award and groups/teams for a group Teamwork award. Due to the collaborative nature of our work, nominators may nominate team members outside of their division or unit for any of the awards, particularly for the Teamwork award as this will serve to further reinforce the connectivity and synergy in our work. The Teamwork award will emphasize cross-team collaboration. More information on the criteria and submission process can be found on the “Our Shared Values” webpage. The deadline to submit is June 5, 2022.
