Dear FAS Community,

No one wants to have difficult conversations, especially at work.

Learning how to approach these conversations provides opportunities for self-advocacy, effectively addressing behavior and performance issues, and understanding differences in working or communication styles. The FAS Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) Learning Program, which launches in two weeks, will empower FAS employees to learn to work better together.

Our kickoff event, Difficult Conversations are Courageous, features Angela Shaw, one of Women We Admire’s 2022 Top 50 Women Leaders in Austin and a respected Human Resources and EDI professional. This event is scheduled for Wednesday, September 28, at 3 pm in Avaya Auditorium (POB 2.302). Please mark your calendars and RSVP online via UT Learn.

The FAS EDI Learning Program aims to provide educational opportunities that are accessible, approachable, and inclusive for our diverse employee population. The flexible curriculum is hosted on UT Learn and includes a speaker series; instructor-led workshops; and a variety of videos, podcasts, and articles. Start your learning journey by exploring the program on our website.

Register for Difficult Conversations are Courageous by 3 pm on Tuesday, September 27, to secure your spot. This event will also be livestreamed via Zoom and available after the event with translated subtitles.

Sincerely,

FAS EDI Committee
