National Native American Heritage Month serves as reminder of campus diversity and environmental stewardship

Great strides have been made in recent years to recognize more formally the history of the Americas prior to European colonization. In 2020, UT Austin’s Native American and Indigenous Studies program released a Land Acknowledgement for use across the university to demonstrate respect for the historic and current presence of Indigenous Peoples in the Greater Austin area and statewide.

EDI Committee collaborates with IRRIS to provide meaningful EDI Learning Survey results

In September 2021, the FAS Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) Committee launched a survey of FAS staff to gather ideas for enhancing EDI awareness and education for the portfolio. The committee developed questions for the FAS EDI Learning Survey and sought advice on how to refine them from FAS Leadership, Institutional Reporting, Research, and Information Systems (IRRIS), and Learning and Development.

FAS EDI Learning Survey Deadline Extended

We have extended the EDI Learning Survey deadline to Friday, September 24. Please note that an FAS-external organization on campus will evaluate and visualize the data. All responses will be confidential.

eBITS Diversity & Inclusion Committee Highlights

The eBITS Diversity & Inclusion Committee was launched in April 2019 with the goal of analyzing how we can gain greater understanding of Diversity and Inclusion topics as a unit, how we can adjust our processes and planning to consider diversity in all that we do. We meet monthly and have various subcommittees for individual programs.
