Accounting & Financial Management has launched a new web view format of GB2 data which is now available in FRMS. GB2 provides balance information for a budget group, broken down by sub-account.

The most common use of GB2 is to view the “Free Balance” for a budget group and its sub-accounts. Free balance is the available balance in a sub-account. It doesn’t take into consideration any approved overdrafts or pooled balances which would be showed in a Pool Balance (found on GB1), which provides the true spending authority of a ten-digit account number.

Unlike DEFINE, the web view of GB2 displays balances in more detailed columns to help you better understand the type of financial activity that impacted the account balances. Online reports can be exported to Excel for offline viewing and further editing.

More information on this can be found  “Salary and Fringe Reports - GB2” training document.
