Associate Vice President for Finance
Julie Bowers serves as the Associate Vice President for Finance at The University of Texas at Austin, where she oversees the Office of the Controller, the University Budget Office, and Financial and People Analytics. In this capacity, she plays a pivotal role in advancing the University’s financial strategy and operational excellence.
Representing the Office of the Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, Julie collaborates closely with academic and administrative leaders across the University. With a notable career in higher education administration, she is committed to enhancing financial systems, promoting staff development, and driving strategic financial planning initiatives that align with the University’s financial stewardship and strategic vision.
Julie began her career at UT Austin as laboratory manager in the College of Natural Sciences in 2007. Since then, Julie has advanced through several key leadership roles, including Chief Business Officer for the Jackson School of Geosciences and Assistant Vice President and Chief Business Officer for the Office of the Vice President for Research, Scholarship and Creative Endeavors. She earned a Master of Education in Quantitative Methods from UT Austin and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from St. Edward’s University.
