Interim Controller over Accounting and Financial Management (AFM)
Jules (Bill) Hunter is the Interim Controller and leads the Accounting and Financial Management (AFM), which encompasses outward-facing financial reporting, treasury and bursar services, student account receivables, and tax and payroll services for the University. The AFM team coordinates financial reporting with outside entities including The University of Texas System and the Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts and handles services directly impacting student and staff experiences with the University.
Prior to joining the University, Bill graduated with a BBA in Accounting from the University of Texas at San Antonio, obtained his Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), and has since built a career marked by significant contributions to both the public and private sectors.
In the public sphere, Bill worked at the Texas State Auditor’s Office, where he managed critical financial audits, including the Annual Comprehensive Financial Report for the State of Texas, the Texas Department of Transportation, and performed substantial financial work at universities across Texas. His tenure at the Texas Department of Transportation as Manager of Internal Audit further highlights his dedication to the State of Texas.
